Somewhere in the middle of my art I began making up stories about random one-off pieces. I named an off-balance painting The Left-of-Center Goddess and forgave myself lacking perfection. Gym roosters named Stan and blue daisies named Delores from the diner began popping up. Nermal the Joy Bug gave me the giggles and I began to allow for artistic nonsense to erupt when things became too serious. We need comic relief in our lives to chase away the darkness and artistic whimsy helps. It’s a necessity!
